A man will face court after a laser was aimed at a NSW Police helicopter flying over Sydney’s south.

The teenager has been charged after aiming the laser pointer at a NSW Police helicopter crew in Sydney’s south.

The crew was patrolling Kingsgrove just after midnight on Saturday when they were targeted by the laser beam.

At about 12.30am police attended a home in Kingsgrove where they spoke with a 19-year-old man and seized a laser pointer.

He has been charged with threatening the safety of people on an aircraft.

He was also charged with having and using a laser pointer in a public place.

He was granted bail to appear in Burwood Local Court on April 4.
