Men say the key to more enjoyable sex is circumcision

Sex is arguably one of the most enjoyable acts you can engage in.

And if the man is circumcised – it can be even better, a new study claims.

Scientists say men who underwent circumcisions saw an improvement in their performance following the operation.

Not only that, but the men stated that the sensation improved too.

Men who underwent circumcisions said they not only enjoyed sex more afterwards, but that their ability to perform in bed improved as well, a new study has revealed

Men who underwent circumcisions said they not only enjoyed sex more afterwards, but that their ability to perform in bed improved as well, a new study has revealed

The study, conducted at the University of Chicago, sent questions to over 360 men six months after their circumcision and then 24 months after.

Almost all the men – 98 percent – reported being happy with their operation while 95 percent said their female partners were satisfied after the procedure.

And two thirds – 67 percent – said they enjoyed having sex more since the operation.

‘The study confirmed men’s long-term satisfaction with the outcome of their voluntary medical male circumcision,’ the authors wrote.

‘It improved sexual pleasure and function for most men and significantly decreased coital injuries.’

Researchers also found that 94 percent of the men were very satisfied or somewhat satisfied with sex afterwards.

HOW CIRCUMCISIONS ARE PERFORMED

For infants:

The baby will be strapped down to avoid movement.

Next, he will have either a topical anesthetic applied to the surface of the penis or have numbing agents injected into the penis or around its base.

One of three different types of clamps or devices – the Gomco clamp, Mogen clamp or Plastibell device – is used to separate the glans from the foreskin and crush or cut a ring of skin from the penis.

The clamps provide for an immediate procedure, while the Plastibell device stays attached for several days before falling off.

Usually the baby will feel better within three to four days, but he can be taken home that same day.

Appearance of the area improves within a week.

For adults:

Men can choose between receiving a general or a local anesthetic.

A dorsal slit is usually made – a cut from the top of the skin – all the way down to the rounded border at the base of the glans.

The foreskin is held away from the penis and carefully cut off. The remaining skin is then sutured around the glans.

The entire process takes about 30 minutes, but patients are recommend from staying away form masturbation or intercourse for a few week to ensure the penis has completely healed.

And their sexual function – their ability to perform in bed – improved, while the likelihood of injury fell.

In the US, circumcision rates are on the decline. A 2014 study found that rates in newborns had fallen from 83 percent in the 1960s to 77 percent in 2010.

The overall rate among US males between the ages of 14 and 59 is 81 percent, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) said that circumcising newborn boys did have potential medical advantages, primarily related to preventing urinary tract infections (UTIs).

But their task forced concluded that the procedure shouldn’t be routinely recommended.

The team found that problems with the penis, such as irritation, can occur with or without circumcision. And with proper care, there is no difference in hygiene.

While there is an increased risk for a UTI in uncircumcised males – especially in babies under one year old – the risk is still less than one percent.

Circumcision is the world’s oldest planned surgical procedure, suggested by Australian-British anatomist Sir Grafton Elliot Smith to be more than 15,000 years old – pre-dating recorded history.

It is still a common practice in some religions, mainly in Judaism and Islam. It’s also practiced in many African communities.

Typically they’re performed on baby boys rather than adults, although, in some cultures, circumcision is used to signal when a boy has become a man.

Circumcisions also reduce female-to-male HIV/AIDS transmission by about 60 percent and are a key element in the UN’s plan to end the global AIDS epidemic by 2030.

The procedure takes about 30 minutes, meaning you won’t need to stay overnight at the hospital.

A general anesthetic is an option, but in some cases a local anesthetic is given to just numb the area.

But you might want to wait though before you jump back into the sack. The procedure requires four to six weeks of abstinence from masturbation or intercourse to allow the wound to heal.
