A man with Down’s syndrome got down on one knee to ask his girlfriend to marry him live on This Morning.
Viewers were brought to tears when Niki Wyatt, 30, took the studio by surprise as he popped the question to Samantha Lochrie, 23, who also has Down’s syndrome.
The audience at home took to Twitter to express their delight for the North Yorkshire couple, who were on the show discussing how staff at a youth club told them their kissing was ‘inappropriate’.
Discussion turned to much more pleasant matters when Niki presented Samantha with a ring, in a moment one viewer described as ‘one of the most beautiful things I’ve seen on TV’.

The couple, who were watched by their mothers and full-time carers, Jackie Wyatt and Kim Lochrie, were already engaged, but Niki wanted his chance to ask Samantha to spend her life with him as the world was watching.
And viewers labelled it the ‘cutest thing ever’ as Samantha answered with ‘yes, I love you.’
